The award-winning Power to Drive Program is a collaborative effort between SelecTrucks, KRTS Transportation Specialists, TST Truckload Express, and the OS Program. This highly succcessful program was launched in 2004 in order to help attract quality people to become owner operators by supplying training, financing, support, and a contract all in one deal.
The Power to Drive Program received the 2005 Program of the Year Award, Presented at the Ontario Trucking Association Convention.
Step 1)
An initial interview is conducted at the TST Truckload Express office in Mississauga, Ontario. An application for employment is completed.
Step 2)
TST Truckload Express introduces the prospects to a designated sales representative at SelecTrucks Toronto. They review the purchase or lease of a late-model tractor and discuss payment opitons. A pre-approval credit application is prepared.
Step 3)
Once the credit application is approved by SelecTrucks Toronto an appointment is set up to visit KRTS for an evaluation. If KRTS and the prospect feel that he /she have what it takes to be an Owner Operator, registration for the Power to Drive Program is completed
at KRTS.
Step 4)
Upon successfully obtaining his /her Class A license, the entry level Owner operator returns to SelecTrucks Toronto and selects their vehicle. The vehicle is prepared for delivery at a certain time and the Owner Operator is introduced to the OS Program on how to operate a successful trucking business.
